Botanica obscura

Botanica obscura 2.0 is a three-piece jewelry concept that combines mechanical structures with botanical forms. The elements are joined with visible screws and bolts, emphasizing a forced and interrupted fusion rather than a seamless connection. The metal mechanical elements represent a sense of strength, control and stability, while the translucent botanical elements introduce fragility and organic reference.

Although created using digital 3D modelling and additive manufacturing, the pieces retain the scale, wearability and hand-assembled character of traditional jewelery. As a contrast the full metal botanical bracelet represents the strength of a simple flower. The collection explores tension between nature and engineering, and between contemporary production methods and established jewelry practices.

The organic elements are made with SLA (Stereolithography) printing technique, with clear matte-finished resin. Contrasting mechanical elements were produced using SLM (selective laser melting) printing and are made of a cobalt-alloy. Metal parts were finished with traditional jewelry polishing techniques to make the contrast between the matte surface of the organic elements even more pronounced.
