The idea of the collection is a mechanical extension of the body. It visualises an energy field transferred onto the body, with mechanical components that hold the field in place and move together with the body. The jewellery provides the wearer with a shield against environmental factors.
The field, represented by transparent resin elements, still allows a view of the underlying steel framework. All parts of the jewellery are 3D-printed, and steel elements are finished using traditional goldsmithing processes of grinding and polishing.
In these pieces, my goal was to experiment with materials and types of 3D printing, metal components were printed using SLM (selective laser melting) printing and the transparent resin components were printed using SLA (stereolitography) printing.
